Absorb Africa, at home in Africa

Southern Africa is made to be enjoyed at the pace that Africa is famous for, if you want to rush through here, you are going to miss the magic.

Southern Africa is a place where you must smell the aroma of the bush after the rain..Hear the call of the fish eagle as you walk through the bush….Put your feet up and take yourself out of time with a sundowner in hand.
We aim to bring you Africa like nobody else can, or have the patience to do. If you trust us to do something out of the ordinary, you will reap the rewards in memories, and we will be happy to see you come back to us like hundreds of other satisfied clients.

Our philosophy is to give you something unique to enrich your life.
This, in turn gives us the greatest job in the world.
Imagine you could grant peoples wishes all day, and make dreams come true. This is what we do.

Let us introduce ourselves.

Carl and Helen Alant are the full time team of Absorb Africa since 1996. Carl Alant has a great love for the people, the nature and history of Africa. He loves to share this with people from all over the world. He started as a registered tour guide and has since accompanied hundreds of people in their discovery of Southern Africa. Helen is born and raised in the Netherlands. In 1995 she went to South Africa for the first time and fell in love with the open spaces and wild nature of the country. The team is supported by experienced free-lance tour guides, each with their own speciality.

Through personal communication beforehand, and with the aid of a unique questionnaire, every group of guests gets a totally personalized itineraryaccording to their preferences, wishes, dreams, budget and personalities. The growth and success of this company is totally because of the praise of previous satisfied customers that had their dream holiday with us. They then send their friends and colleagues to have an equally unforgettable experience, and thus it grows. Guests arrive as strangers and leave as friends.

Southern Africa’s special charm

Southern Africa is unique in the world on so many levels. On the tip of a wild continent you find an enormous diversity in wildlife, topography, culture, and not the least, cuisine.

South Africa alone is home to 243 mammal species, 37 marine mammal species and 850 bird species. It truly is an unique experience to walk with lions, observe rhinoceros in their natural habitat or swim with wild dolphins.

How We Work

Before we send out an itinerary proposal, we would like to get to know the group a bit. Every group is unique. In order to make sure the itinerary suits the whole group, we request that every prospective guest fills in 'PART 2' of the questionnaire and sends it to us.

'PART 1' - Must be completed by the group.

'PART 2' - Must be completed by all group members.

You will receive your itinerary proposal as soon as possible, easy as that.

Have fun filling in the questionnaire!
